FAQs
Why Heartbeat and not Patreon or Ream?
Both Patreon and Ream are great platforms but neither of them was flexible enough for what I wanted to do (incorporate a book club to start with) so I decided to go with Heartbeat, a platform I know well and find incredible both as a community manager and user.
Heartbeat is an established membership and community platform that is incredibly flexible and easy to use. I highly recommend it if you’re looking to set up your own membership.
The app is available for Android and IOS (Apple).
Are payments secure?
All payments go through Stripe which the same payment platform used by Patreon, Ream and many other online retailers.
Why is the book club not available as a Facebook Group for example?
It’s a personal choice.
As much as I like Facebook, I find it incredibly frustrating as a creative and page owner.
I’m also increasingly concerned about security in FB. I know of too many people lately who’ve had their accounts hacked. It’s not something I want for my readers or me.
